Experts from Central Asian countries, the European Union, ASEAN, the Nordic Council, as well as researchers from Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Azerbaijan visited Green University as part of the Central Asian Expert Forum (CAEF), titled “Central Asia – A Common Space of Trust, Security, and Sustainable Development”. The forum was organized by the Institute for Strategic and regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

A thematic session titled “Climate Dialogue in Central Asia: Current Situation and Prospects” was held on the university campus. During the discussion, participants addressed key environmental challenges facing the region and explored possible solutions through regional cooperation and scientific integration.

The session was moderated by Dr. Shahriyor Nurulloev, Acting Rector of Green University, who also delivered the opening presentation. In his speech, he outlined current trends in climate risks and threats in Central Asia and presented the university’s efforts in environmental education, sustainable development, and the training of specialists in the green economy.

Another keynote speaker was Sayyora Abdullaeva, Head of International Cooperation at the National Center for Climate Change under the Ministry of Ecology. She gave a detailed presentation on the concept of green development in Central Asia, emphasizing the need for coordinated efforts among regional countries to effectively address climate challenges.

The third speaker was Hikmat Abdullaev, Senior Researcher at the Regional Office of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI). In his presentation, titled “Science-Policy Dialogue on Water Diplomacy in Central Asia,” he emphasized the importance of a scientific approach to water resource management and called for deeper regional cooperation in this area.

Following the session, forum participants were given a guided tour of Green University, during which they became acquainted with its infrastructure, academic programs, research laboratories, and ongoing projects aimed at promoting sustainable and environmentally focused education. The guests expressed strong interest in future collaboration with the university and acknowledged its important role in advancing the climate agenda in the region.

The session attracted considerable interest among forum participants and served as an important platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience, as well as the development of joint strategies to address climate-related challenges in Central Asia.
