Foundation year is a day program that can be completed within a period of one year. It consists of 6 modules, 3 modules per semester. All modules of Foundation Year in 2025-2026 academic year are taught only in English. It’s not an independent program and forms the first year of BSc programs at Green University.
The main purpose of the program:
- Provide a flexibly structured program of study to improve English language skills and communication skills together with soft skills;
- Provide a sound knowledge base in environment studies and introduce fundamental environment concepts;
- Encourage the development of a creative attitude, an open mind, and ecology-relevant awareness.
Specific program outcomes:
The program provides opportunities for participants to develop and demonstrate knowledge and skills in the following areas:
- English language skills, communication skills, soft skills, and basic environment concepts;
- To develop in participants, an interest in Environment Management, Environment Protection, and Sustainability;
- To equip participants with the ability to apply knowledge in practice.
Modules:
The Foundation Year (FY) of the program introduces students to the core concepts of sustainability, climate change, and environmental management, while also developing key academic and professional skills. Students begin with English for Sustainability and Climate Change, which enhances language proficiency in the context of environmental issues. The Introduction to Environmental and Sustainable Management offers foundational knowledge on managing environmental resources and fostering sustainability, while Introduction to Environment and Economics explores the economic dimensions of environmental challenges. The Introduction to Environmental Policy module provides an overview of the policy frameworks and regulations that influence environmental practices. Together, these modules equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for further study and careers in environmental sustainability.
