Green University hosted a delegation from London South Bank University (LSBU) for a bilateral meeting aimed at strengthening international cooperation in education, research, and capacity building in the fields of sustainability and innovation.
The LSBU delegation was led by Paul Kett, Chief Executive Officer & Vice-Chancellor, and included Stuart Bannerman, Aissata Edmondson, and Hansley Noruthun.
The meeting at Green University was led by the Rector of the university, Dr. Bakhtiyor Pulatov, who welcomed the delegation and emphasized the importance of developing international academic partnerships to advance sustainability education and research in Central Asia. The visit was also supported by representatives of the British Council and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for developing joint academic programmes, including undergraduate and postgraduate pathways, dual degrees, and short professional courses focused on sustainability, business, and emerging technologies. Particular attention was given to student mobility initiatives such as semester exchanges, summer schools, and internship opportunities.
The discussions also explored prospects for research collaboration in priority areas such as sustainability in business, artificial intelligence and ethics, digital transformation, and sustainable engineering technologies. Both institutions expressed interest in launching joint research projects, co-supervised doctoral programmes, and collaborative grant applications.
In addition, the meeting highlighted opportunities for capacity building, including faculty development, visiting lectureships, curriculum design support, and knowledge exchange between the two universities.
The visit also included a campus tour, during which the LSBU delegation was introduced to Green University’s academic infrastructure, including modern laboratories, digital learning facilities, and initiatives supporting environmental sustainability and innovation.
The meeting marked an important step toward building a long-term partnership between Green University and London South Bank University, aimed at advancing international cooperation in higher education and supporting sustainable development in Central Asia.
