On April 16 this year, the Central Asian University for Environmental and Climate Change Studies (Green University) hosted a seminar titled “The Practical Implementation of Waste-to-Fuel Conversion Technologies.” The event featured experts from Solid Environmental Technologies, a leading Finnish company in environmental protection.
The seminar gathered representatives from the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development, the State Institution "Directorate for Waste Landfill Management," as well as faculty and students from Green University. Also in attendance were professionals from sanitary service companies and entrepreneurs from the cement manufacturing sector.
The event included presentations and discussions on best practices in municipal waste management and recycling, with a particular focus on integrating circular economy principles into the sector.
Participants gained valuable insights and practical skills related to converting waste into fuel using modern technologies — an approach that offers promising opportunities for reducing the consumption of coal, natural gas, and electricity. The seminar also highlighted case studies and real-world experiences from developed countries.
