On March 19, 2026, a scientific and practical seminar dedicated to the maintenance, treatment, and protection of green areas was held at the Astronomy Park in Tashkent as part of the “Yashil bog‘lar” project.
The event was organized by the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan in collaboration with the “Zamin” International Public Foundation. The seminar focused on pressing issues related to the preservation, restoration, and development of city parks, public spaces, and natural areas in accordance with sustainable development principles.
The main objective of the seminar was to implement scientifically based approaches to the care, protection, and treatment of green areas and to enhance the knowledge and skills of specialists in this field.
During the seminar, experts conducted theoretical and practical sessions on key aspects of tree care, including mulching, sanitary pruning, and crown shaping. Recommendations were also provided on the biological protection of plants against pests and diseases.
In the practical sessions, participants had the opportunity to apply their knowledge directly by shaping trees, removing dead and diseased branches, and properly performing mulching. In addition, proposals were made for additional planting of shrubs and tree saplings to further improve the greenery of the area.
The seminar was attended by representatives of the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change, the Research Institute of Forestry, Green University, the “Zamin” International Public Foundation, participants of the Eco-Schools Uzbekistan project, as well as activists of the Tashkent City Young Ecologists Movement.
