Roundtable Discussion with Students on Anti-Corruption and Drug Prevention
A roundtable discussion with students was organized within the framework of spiritual-educational and legal awareness activities on the themes “Combating Corruption as a Guarantee of the Rule of Law and Development” and “Drug Prevention: Prevention and Responsibility.”
The event was led by deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan — Navruzbek Yusupov and Oybek Yuldashev. In their speeches, the deputies noted that combating corruption is a crucial factor in ensuring the rule of law, transparency in public administration, and sustainable development. They emphasized the importance of fostering an uncompromising attitude toward corruption among young people as a foundation for building a just society.
As part of the second topic, a presentation was delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Farid Khamitov, an officer of the Tashkent District Department of Internal Affairs. He provided detailed information on the causes of drug abuse, its social and legal consequences, and preventive measures among youth. Special attention was given to personal responsibility, legal culture, and the role of families and educational institutions in preventing offenses.
During the meeting, students received answers to their questions and exchanged views. The participants highlighted the importance of such open dialogue platforms. The event contributed to strengthening legal awareness among young people, fostering active civic engagement, and increasing understanding of contemporary social issues.
