From 21 July to 3 August 2026, the international seminar titled “Protection, Transmission and Development of Intangible Cultural Heritage within the Framework of the Global Civilization Initiative” was held in the People’s Republic of China.

Green University was represented at the seminar by:

Odinakhon Pulatova— Chief Specialist of the Department for Commercialization of Scientific and Innovative Developments;

Bahodir Eshchanov — Head of the Department for Commercialization of Scientific and Innovative Developments;

Shohrukh Obidov — University Tutor for Student Support.

The seminar was organized by the Central Academy of Culture and Tourism Administration of China. As part of the program, expert lectures, practical sessions, experience-sharing meetings, and visits to cultural heritage sites were held in Beijing, Guangzhou, and Chaozhou.

Participants explored China’s experience in preserving intangible cultural heritage, supporting traditional crafts, transferring cultural knowledge and skills to younger generations, as well as integrating heritage with tourism and the modern economy.

During the seminar, the Uzbek delegation delivered a comprehensive presentation titled “UNESCO-Recognized Intangible Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan.”

The presentation highlighted Uzbekistan’s historical role along the Great Silk Road, UNESCO World Heritage cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Shahrisabz, as well as the country’s rich intangible cultural heritage.

In particular, the following areas were presented:

Boysun Cultural Space;

Shashmaqom traditional music;

Navruz;

Katta Ashula and Askiya traditions;

the art of preparing Uzbek plov;

Margilan Crafts Development Centre;

Khorezm Lazgi dance;

Bakhshi art and the storytelling traditions of Nasriddin Afandi;

miniature and tazhib arts;

pottery;

the art of making and performing on traditional instruments such as rubab and kobuz;

Atlas and Adras weaving;

sericulture and traditional silk production;

doppi, chapan, and other national clothing;

social and cultural traditions related to iftar;

traditional knowledge and skills of yurt making;

national cuisine and the hospitality values of the Uzbek people.

At the conclusion of the seminar, participants were awarded certificates, and new professional and academic cooperation ties were established with specialists from different countries.
