Presentation of the National Strategy for Rational Water Use and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2027–2050 Held at Green University
On February 19, 2026, the presentation of the “National Strategy for Rational Water Use and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2027–2050” was held at Green University. The event brought together leading experts, government authorities and business to discuss key priorities of environmental policy, sustainable development, and the effective management of the country’s water resources.
The Guest of Honor was Mr. Aziz Abdukhakimov, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Environmental Issues and Chairman of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change. In his address, he emphasized the strategic importance of rational water resource management, the introduction of modern environmental standards, and the expansion of international cooperation in environmental protection.
The event featured several distinguished speakers, including:
-Shavkat Khamraev, Minister of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who highlighted the importance of effective water management and national water security.
-Vladimir Kvint, Doctor of Economics, Professor of Political Economy, Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Head of the Russian Delegation, who presented a strategic vision for integrating environmental policy with economic development amid global challenges.
-Irina Novikova, Professor of the Department of Economic and Financial Strategies at Lomonosov Moscow State University, who shared her perspective on modern financial strategies and approaches to economic development.
-Khurshid Rakhmatullaev, Deputy Chairman of the Board at UzSuvTaminot, who discussed innovative approaches to water resource management and infrastructure development.
During the conference, members of the Russian scientific and expert community delivered presentations addressing financial strategies, economic modeling, forest and water resource management, as well as innovative engineering solutions.
Participants noted that the Strategy for 2027–2050 will serve as a fundamental policy document aimed at ensuring water security, reducing environmental risks, and establishing a sustainable development model for the country.
The conference contributed to strengthening scientific cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation, expanding expert dialogue, and developing practical recommendations for the implementation of strategic initiatives at both national and international levels.
