Our university hosted an international forum on March 21 – International Day of Forests. The event was attended by the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change Aziz Abduhakimov, Deputy Prosecutor General Sherzod To‘xtaboyev, Director of the Forestry Agency Erkin Muhiddinov, Chairman of the Ecology and Environmental Protection Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Khayrullo Gapporov, as well as industry specialists, international experts, and media representatives.

Opening the forum, Minister Aziz Abduhakimov emphasized the vital role of forests and the ongoing national efforts to establish new forest areas and enhance greenery. He also highlighted the growing importance of expanding and restoring forested lands.

In his speech, Deputy Prosecutor General Sherzod To‘xtaboyev congratulated forestry professionals on their dedication and wished them continued success. He also expressed confidence that cooperation in environmental protection would become even more effective.

Director of the Forestry Agency Erkin Muhiddinov discussed key initiatives, particularly efforts to combat desertification and establish protective forests. Following this, a group of long-serving forestry professionals was honored with the "Forestry Devotee" badge in recognition of their outstanding contributions.

The forum also featured exhibitions showcasing medicinal plants and other forestry products, along with a theatrical performance titled “The Tree Planted by the Ancestor,” emphasizing the importance of tree conservation. The event concluded with a guided tour of the Green University campus, allowing guests to explore its green initiatives and sustainable projects.
