Green University Welcomes Special Guest Dr. John Capece: Opening Day of Knowledge Exchange
On December 11, Green University hosted the first day of knowledge exchange sessions with Dr. John Capece. Dr. Capece, the Executive Director of Alpha Epsilon Lambda (AEL) — the national honor society for graduate students in the United States — visited our campus to engage with students and faculty as part of a two-day program.
Dr. Capece holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Florida and has built an impressive international career spanning leadership, environmental protection, and educational development. He is a founding member of the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students (NAGPS). He also works as the Kissimmee Waterkeeper within the Waterkeeper Alliance, advocating for water protection in Florida, and is the founder of Southern DataStream, focusing on agroecology, water quality, and sustainable development.
In addition, Dr. Capece is the President of Intelligentsia International, an educational nonprofit that has, over the last 20 years, hosted more than 500 interns from 68 countries, offering programs in environmental sciences, engineering, and community service. Together with AEL, he also leads the Campus Climate Corps initiative.
During the first day of his visit, students joined Dr. Capece for engaging discussions, idea-sharing sessions, and conversations on international collaboration and academic growth. The atmosphere was vibrant and intellectually stimulating, providing students with a valuable opportunity to connect with a prominent international expert.
Green University looks forward to continuing this productive exchange on the second day of the program and strengthening future cooperation.
