As part of the scientific-practical conference “Water Diplomacy in Central Asia: Trust, Dialogue, and Multilateral Cooperation for Sustainable Development”, Green University had the privilege of hosting an official visit for high-level delegates representing Central Asian nations and Afghanistan.

The conference, organised in a hybrid format by the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, convened senior water management officials, policymakers, and experts from across the region. The event served as a strategic platform to foster regional cooperation, strengthen mutual trust, and promote multilateral dialogue on sustainable water resource management.

During the conference program, participants were invited to tour the campus of Green University, Central Asia’s leading institution specialising in environmental and climate change studies. The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the university’s academic and research activities, state-of-the-art facilities, and its holistic approach to sustainability and innovation.

University leadership briefed the delegation on key educational programs, research projects, and international collaborations aimed at addressing critical environmental challenges, particularly in the areas of water security, climate resilience, and circular economy solutions. Special emphasis was placed on Green University’s role in developing future leaders and specialists in environmental governance and sustainable development.

The visit facilitated open dialogue on the importance of integrating scientific research and academic expertise into regional water diplomacy efforts. Delegates expressed strong interest in deepening cooperation with the university through joint initiatives, student exchange programs, and collaborative research focused on regional water and environmental issues.

This engagement marked a meaningful contribution to the overarching goals of the Water Diplomacy in Central Asia conference, reinforcing the essential role of academic institutions in advancing knowledge-based policymaking and sustainable development across the region.
