Green University Students Gain Opportunities to Study in the Republic of Korea
The Rector of the Central Asian University of Environmental and Climate Change Studies (Green University), Bakhtiyor Pulatov, met with South Korean experts Choi Gwang-woon and Kim Yong-jin, representatives of Hyundai NGV, as part of the KOICA Professional Talent Development Program implemented by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
The Professional Talent Development Program is a long-term KOICA initiative in the STEM field, aimed at training engineers and research and development (R&D) specialists in line with industry needs. The program seeks to enhance the industrial and technological competitiveness of partner countries.
The visit focused on presenting the program’s priority areas in cooperation with Hyundai NGV and partner universities, as well as supporting its promotion and further implementation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation mechanisms for training highly qualified engineers and R&D specialists, expanding academic partnerships, and strengthening education–industry linkages. The discussions also covered flexible master’s degree study periods (from 17 to 30 months) and mandatory internships in the Republic of Korea lasting 3–6 months, along with their future prospects.
Under the KOICA program, Green University students will now be able to continue their master’s studies in the Republic of Korea. The initiative provides students with access to international academic experience and industry-oriented training.
The visit is expected to contribute to stronger education–industry integration, the introduction of international best practices, and the development of highly qualified national human capital.
