Green University Launches Its Participation in the International “GreenCamUz” Project
The Central Asian University of Environmental and Climate Change Studies (Green University) has officially launched its participation in the project entitled “GreenCamUz – ERASMUS-EDU-2025-CBHE-STRAND-1”: “Green Campus Initiative – Integrating Sustainability into Higher Education in Uzbekistan”, which is funded under the European Union’s Erasmus+ international grant programme.
For reference, the project will be implemented over the period 2025–2028 and involves 12 educational institutions from Uzbekistan. Its primary objective is to systematically integrate the principles of sustainable development into the higher education system—particularly into various academic programmes—through forward-looking, competency-based approaches developed in close cooperation with educational partners. The GreenCamUz project aims to enhance environmental responsibility within higher education institutions, promote the implementation of the “green campus” concept, and support the training of sustainability-minded professionals.
This initiative fully aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as the European Union’s priority areas aimed at strengthening environmental sustainability in education. Within the framework of the project, a range of educational and practical activities will be carried out to improve pupils’ and students’ knowledge and skills related to climate change, environmental challenges, and their consequences, while fostering a deeper understanding of the interconnection between the environment and human activities.
In addition, the GreenCamUz project contributes to raising environmental awareness and responsibility among young people, supports their development as active and engaged citizens, and makes a meaningful contribution to achieving Uzbekistan’s national sustainable development goals.
