Green University Hosts Lecture by Dr. Madhu Rao on Global Conservation

Green University hosted an inspiring lecture titled “Healthy Nature, Healthy Planet” delivered by Dr. Madhu Rao, Chair of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA).

During the talk, students learned about the current state of nature and global biodiversity, major threats facing ecosystems and species, and the importance of international agreements such as the Convention on Biological Diversity. Dr. Rao also highlighted new opportunities for global conservation through Target 3 of the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).

With more than 25 years of experience in conservation science, Dr. Rao shared practical insights and global perspectives, encouraging students to take an active role in protecting nature. The lecture became an important platform for discussion on sustainable development and the future of protected areas worldwide.
