Green University Hosts Key International Partnerships for Climate and Environmental Cooperation

Central Asia University for Environmental and Climate Studies welcomed distinguished visitors this week, strengthening its international partnerships in sustainability and environmental research.

Marton Krasnai, Director of the Central Asia Studies Center at Corvinus University of Budapest, visited the university to discuss collaborative research on Central Asia's pressing environmental challenges and climate resilience. Talks focused on developing joint scientific projects, enhancing knowledge exchange, and training future specialists in climate science. Mr. Krasnai received an in-depth briefing on the university’s programs, the resources available to students, and the institution’s core environmental research priorities. Both sides agreed on a roadmap to foster joint research initiatives aimed at ecological sustainability and climate adaptation.

The university also had the honor of hosting Professor Dr. Ferhat Pirinçci, President of the Turkish Environmental Agency. This visit highlighted the potential for cooperation between Turkey and Uzbekistan in environmental protection, resource conservation, and renewable energy development. Discussions focused on experience-sharing in ecological sustainability and collaborative scientific projects. Professor Pirinçci was briefed on the university’s climate and environmental studies, ongoing projects, and student support facilities. Both parties formalized agreements to advance joint research projects and academic programs focused on sustainability.

Additionally, representatives from the Green Climate Fund met with university officials to explore cooperative efforts aimed at climate adaptation and mitigation of adverse climate impacts in the region. Both sides reviewed financing options for practical projects that support sustainable development, environmental protection, and the development of young climate professionals. The Green Climate Fund delegation received a comprehensive presentation on the university’s climate research, student and faculty facilities, and applied programs. Agreements were reached to strengthen future cooperation between the university and the Green Climate Fund.

These strategic visits underline the university’s commitment to building international alliances that support Central Asia's resilience to climate challenges, fostering an ecosystem for impactful research and specialized training for a sustainable future.
