Green University Hosts High-Level Meeting with World Bank Delegation
A high-level meeting was held today at Green University with a delegation from the World Bank to discuss priority areas of bilateral cooperation in environmental governance and sustainable development.
The agenda focused on advancing the new Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) legislation, supporting the implementation of the Capacity Building Program (CBP), and exploring the establishment of a Center of Learning aimed at strengthening professional competencies and institutional expertise.
The World Bank delegation comprised Mr. Sanjay Srivastava, Practice Manager for Environmental and Social Framework in Europe and Central Asia; Harjot Kaur, Senior Social Development Specialist; Gaurav Dilipkumar Joshi, Senior Environmental Specialist and Gulana Hajiyeva, Senior Environmental Specialist.
The meeting was chaired by Professor Bakhtiyor Pulatov, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Rector of Green University.
During the discussions, both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional capacity, aligning national environmental frameworks with international standards, and expanding academic and technical cooperation. The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of the University and the World Bank to advancing sustainable development initiatives through strategic partnership and knowledge exchange.
