On April 29, Green University welcomed a delegation from Tottori University (Japan), led by Vice President and Professor Atsushi Tsunekawa, along with representatives of the International Platform for Dryland Research and Education. During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding scientific cooperation in environmental protection in arid and semi-arid regions, climate change adaptation, and the development of sustainable agriculture. Special attention was given to efficient water resource management, combating desertification, and promoting ecological innovations through joint research. The delegation expressed strong interest in the activities of the Research Institute for Combating Desertification and Developing Desert Economy under Green University, as well as in the university’s research infrastructure and training system. Research on halophytes (salt-tolerant plants) was highlighted as an area of mutual interest. Preliminary agreements were reached on launching joint educational programs, as well as short- and long-term internships and academic exchange opportunities for students and young researchers. The possibility of introducing a student exchange program, based on existing international experience, was also discussed. In addition, the sides considered organizing researcher exchanges, attracting international experts, and expanding joint scientific projects, with particular emphasis on opportunities within the Climate Residency Program.
