Green University and Clean Air Asia Sign Memorandum of Understanding

The Central Asian University of Environmental and Climate Change Studies (Green University) successfully held a bilateral meeting with the Clean Air Initiative for Asian Cities (Clean Air Asia), culminating in the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening collaboration in environmental sustainability, air quality improvement, and climate change mitigation.

During the meeting, both sides highlighted the urgent need for coordinated action to address air pollution, promote sustainable urban development, and support climate resilience across Central Asia and the broader Asian region. Clean Air Asia, an international non-profit established in 2001 and supported by global partners such as the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank, shared its extensive experience in developing science-based policies and tools that reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

The newly signed Memorandum outlines cooperation in several key areas, including:
• joint research and expert collaboration on air quality and climate mitigation;
• capacity building, workshops, and training programs;
• initiatives to support sustainable city development;
• opportunities for student and faculty exchanges.

Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to fostering innovation, developing scientific solutions, and empowering a new generation of environmental professionals. The signing of the Memorandum marks an important step toward building long-term, impactful partnerships to advance sustainable development across Asia.
