"EuroBirdwatch 2026", a traditional international birdwatching event organized with the participation of the Uzbekistan Society for the Protection of Birds, will take place this autumn during the peak period of bird migration.

For more than two decades, participants have gathered annually to observe migratory birds in Tashmore, while regional branches have organized birdwatching activities in other natural areas across Uzbekistan.

This year marks the 34th edition of EuroBirdwatch. Over the entire history of the initiative, more than 1.3 million people have taken part, observing over 107 million migratory birds.

The main objective of EuroBirdwatch is to raise public awareness of the needs of migratory birds and the importance of protecting their habitats along migration routes, including breeding grounds, stopover sites and wintering areas in the Mediterranean region and Africa.

During migration, birds face numerous threats, including the degradation of important stopover sites, loss of natural habitats and disturbance caused by human activities.

Birdwatching is not only an opportunity to discover and learn more about the diversity of birds, but also an important way to promote environmental awareness and encourage the protection of natural ecosystems.
