Uzbekistan Delegation Participates in the China–Central Asia Meteorological Cooperation Forum.

The Second China–Central Asia Meteorological Cooperation Forum was held in Urumqi, China, from 21 to 23 September.
The forum brought together Professor Zou Tongqian, Vice Rector of Green University; Farrukh Sattarov, Director of the Climate Change Center under the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Doniyor Turgunov, Director of the Hydrometeorological Research Institute, as well as representatives of the hydrometeorological services of Central Asian countries and China, the World Meteorological Organization, research institutions, and universities.
During the Central Asia Meteorological Academic Symposium, Professor Zou Tongqian delivered a presentation titled “Research Progress on the Ecological Impacts of Climate Change on the Aral Sea.” The presentation examined the ecological changes in the Aral Sea since 1960, their key causes, and the impact of climate change on the region’s environment.
The forum also resulted in an agreement to initiate cooperation between the Climate Change Center under the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Shaanxi Meteorological Bureau on the localization of the MAZU meteorological early warning system in Uzbekistan.
In addition, Professor Zou Tongqian visited the Urumqi Institute of Desert Meteorology, where discussions were held on future scientific research cooperation.
The forum served as an important platform for further strengthening Uzbekistan–China cooperation in meteorology, climate change, scientific research, and environmental sustainability.
