Research Institute of Forestry

About Research Institute

The institute has a long history of nearly 100 years. It was first established in 1927 as the only forest experimental station in Central Asia. Later, in 1940, the station was granted the status of the Uzbekistan Agroforestry and Forestry Institute, and in 1948, it became the Central Asian Forestry Research Institute. The institute was reorganized based on the Presidential Decree No. PP-2966, dated May 11, 2017, titled "On the Organization of the Activities of the State Committee on Forestry of the Republic of Uzbekistan", and was established on the basis of the Republican Scientific and Production Center for Ornamental Horticulture and Forestry. Later, based on Presidential Decree No. PQ-171, dated May 31, 2023, titled "On Measures to Effectively Organize the Activities of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change", the Forestry Research Institute was reorganized as part of the Central Asian University for Environmental and Climate Studies (Green University).
