"Darxan" Scientific Experimental Farm

About Darxan

The history of the "Darxon Scientific-Experimental Farm" dates back to the 1930s, initially established as the "Central Asian Research Institute of Forestry" (СрерАзНИИЛХ). It became a major scientific center in the region, focused on forestry and desert reclamation research in Central Asia. The institute specialized in forest creation in various geographical zones, stabilizing sand dunes, and land reclamation in desert areas. In the years following independence, the institute’s structure was revised, and some of its departments were merged with other scientific institutions. The scientific experience accumulated by "СрерАзНИИЛХ," particularly its research on creating forest plantations in desert and semi-desert areas, still serves as a key scientific foundation for the development of forestry in Central Asia today. In 2005, the State Forestry Committee reorganized it as the "Darxon Scientific-Experimental Farm," focusing on research in forest resource management and ensuring ecological sustainability.
