Turning Renewables into Reusables — Green University Partners with EURECA

Green University held a meeting with the representative of the EURECA – Renewable Energy in Central Asia project to discuss joint initiatives in circular economy, waste management, and recycling of renewable energy equipment.

During the meeting, Ms. Bettina Löwentraut-Duran, Energy Advisor at the GIZ Office in Uzbekistan and expert under the EURECA project, highlighted opportunities to develop cooperation in areas such as battery and solar panel recycling and proposed establishing a Knowledge Hub at Green University to connect academia, industry, and regional partners.

The sides expressed mutual interest in promoting sustainable practices, innovation, and capacity building in Uzbekistan and across Central Asia, and agreed to continue working toward a joint framework for collaboration.

The EURECA project, implemented by GIZ and co-funded by the European Union and BMZ, supports the expansion of renewable energy and the transition toward sustainable energy systems in Central Asia.
