Co-creation Workshop on Climate and Air Quality

On December 4, The Central Asian University of Environmental and Climate Change Studies (Green University), in collaboration with Clean Air Asia and with the support from the Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOEJ) organized a Co-creation Workshop aimed at strengthening climate and air quality actions in Uzbekistan’s cities.
Objectives of the Workshop:
• Strengthen understanding of the co-benefits between clean air and climate change mitigation.
• Raise awareness of the JCM as a viable financing mechanism for integrated climate and air quality interventions.
• Engage with the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change (MOEEPCC), city governments, and JCM focal points to further develop Project Idea Notes (PINs) prepared in FY2024.
• Facilitate knowledge exchange through case studies, interactive discussions, and expert coaching with specialists from Japan and across the Asia region.
This event marked an important step toward developing impactful, integrated projects that contribute to cleaner air and climate resilience in Uzbekistan’s rapidly growing urban areas.
