Green University was established on May 31, 2023, based on the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PD-174 “On measures to establish Central Asian University of Environmental and Climate Change Studies (Green University).”

Green University operates in the fields of environmental protection, ecology, climate change, and sustainable development. The university’s main goal is to train highly qualified specialists in these areas, conduct scientific research, and contribute to building an environmentally conscious society.

Green University also develops students' political, economic, and technological knowledge through interdisciplinary education programs aimed at solving environmental challenges.

According to the procedures approved by the University’s Board of Trustees, Green University has the right to independently carry out its admissions process.

For 2025-2026 academic year, the online application deadline is August 29th (including).

The Foundation Year is a general education preparatory course that lasts for one year and is considered the first stage of the 4-year bachelor's degree program. (More info).

The primary language of instruction and academic conduct at Green University is English. However, some supplementary lectures and courses may be conducted in Uzbek or Russian.

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must be a graduate of a secondary school, academic lyceum, or vocational college (11 years of mandatory education).
  • Must hold one of the following English proficiency certificates: IELTS 5.5, TOEFL (PBT 453+, CBT 133+, IBT 46+), or CEFR (Multilevel test) B2 level.
  • If the applicant holds one of these certificates, they must write a 250–300-word essay on the topic: “Which of the three Green University bachelor programs do you want to choose and why?” and be invited for an interview.
  • If the applicant does not hold a certificate, they must take an internal English proficiency exam at Green University. This test follows IELTS or CEFR formats and includes: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. The Writing and Speaking parts are mainly related to ecology and climate change topics.

To receive a study contract, applicants must submit the original versions of the following documents:

  • Original diploma and transcript from high school/academic lyceum/vocational college (11-year mandatory education).
  • Original IELTS, TOEFL, or CEFR certificate (if available) or results of the university's entrance exams.

Yes, applicants can apply to transfer to undergraduate program to the second year (Y1) of a bachelor’s program at Green University.

Applicants must have one of the following English language proficiency certificates:

  • IELTS certificate with a score of 6.0 or higher;

Or TOEFL with a score of at least PBT 500, CBT 171, IBT 61, or a CEFR (Multilevel test) B2 certificate;

  • If the applicant does not have any certificate, they must successfully pass the university’s internal entrance exam.

The English language requirement can also be waived under the following conditions:

  • A degree awarded by an accredited university in an English-speaking country, where the entire program was taught and assessed in English;
  • A degree awarded by an accredited university in a non-English-speaking country, where the entire program was taught and assessed in English (a confirmation letter stating the language of instruction must be provided).

Applicants with the required English certificate must submit a 350–400 word essay on the topic:

Discuss how obtaining a degree from Green University will prepare you to make an impact and achieve your goals in the field.”

After submission, they will be invited for an interview.

Applicants without the required English certificate must take the University’s internal entrance exam, which is similar in format to IELTS or CEFR exams (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking) and includes topics related to the environment, ecology, and climate change.

Transfer to undergraduate program applicants must upload scanned copies of the following documents in the required format:

  • Passport or ID card (including the registration page of the passport or the back side of the ID card) – PDF;
